Blizzard's Infatuation with Shocking Events
One of the latest complaints about World of Warcraft is their seemingly inability to wrap up hardcore moments in their story-lines.
Blizzard has always been big on shocking their players with events that evoke great emotion. The Night Elves story is used as a great example of shock for no reason sake on the wow subreddit:
I think Blizzard should focus less on shocking "cool" moments and more on continuity and satisfying conclusions. While the faction war in BfA was supposed to be wrapped up, the supposed conclusion to the Burning of Teldrassil in 8.1 felt very underwhelming and it also left many questions open. from r/wow
What do you think? Will the new Shadowlands expansion carry on the same tradition with story-lines that enviably end nowhere?
