WoW Classic Launch and Beta Testing

Strap your hats on, and grab hold of your gaming chairs, World of Warcraft gamers. The vanilla form of WoW Classic goes live on August 27th, 2019!

Vanilla World of Warcraft Goes Live on August 27th

If you're currently an active subscriber you'll have the chance to be invited to a small. focused closed beta test. Stress tests will be run from May to July. As the testing goes along, more players will be invited. There will be level caps in place to ensure the stress tests are emphasized.

Testing Schedule for WoW Classic

Early testing begins as soon as tomorrow, May 15th 2019. The developers are serious about pushing the limits of their technology which means there will be a massive amount of players within close proximity. Make sure that your computers are up to par!

The Stress Test Schedule

Dedicated beta players will be chosen from a pool of players that select both the Beta Classic opt-in as well as the standard WoW beta opt-in boxes. If you haven't already, go to your Battle net Account and check those boxes.

Stress Test 1: May 22nd through May 23nd
Stress Test 2:  June 19th through Jun 20th
Stress Test 3: July 18th through July 19th

Obligatory note: These dates are subject to change.

This won't guarantee an invite as they'll be choosing from several factors. New players as well as Veteran players, Casual and Elitists can be invited. Just make sure that you at least have opted into the beta testing.

Claim your Character Name in WoW Classic

Character Name Creation in WoW Classic begins on August 13th, a little slightly ahead to align with other regions since it'll be worldwide. Make sure you're ready to claim your character and name. They'll go quick, real lightening fast! Only active subscribers or players with game time will be able to claim a character names.
