The Fate of Pet Charms in World of Warcraft's Legion

The fate of Pet Charms in World of Warcraft Legion is an interesting one. Despite the rumors that the currency will be removed and integrated with a new one; the fact is that Pet Charms are remaining. At least for the upcoming World of Warcraft Legion expansion. What does not remain is the amount that a player will receive from Warlords content.
Straight from the WarcraftDevs twitter account the developers answer the question as to what will happen to the Pet Menagerie. The answer is that the rewards will be nerfed to the ground(but not eliminated). What does this mean exactly? Well, if you peeked into what is coming in World of Warcraft Legion you'll recall that many of the new pets require thousands of pet charms.

We can assume that the Pet battles in Dalaran will reward a few Pet Charms but this is a currency that a World of Warcraft pet collector can gather right now. Instead of waiting to amass a small collection of Pet Charms make sure to do your dailies while the Pet Menagerie and World of Warcraft Draenor content is still relevant.

Pet Battle Summary:
24 charms from Grand Master Tamers
+ 8-10 charms per Menagerie daily
+ 15-30 charms per Tanaan Elites

Daily Pet Battle Tracker Macro:
You can use this macro code to keep track of your battle pet dailies without having to go back to the zone and check:

/run for k, v in pairs({ Gargra = 37205, Cymre = 37201, Ashlei = 37203, Taralune = 37208, Tarr = 37206, Vesharr = 37207}) do print(format("%s: %s", k, IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and "\124cff00ff00Yes\124r" or "\124cffff0000No\124r")) end

In conclusion, World of Warcraft Legion will heavily nerf a great deal of pets and famous pet combinatinos such as the Howl Combo. Alongside these nerfs will be changes to the amount of currency a player can attain in their pet menagerie.

A note that has yet to be confirmed but it is being heavily hinted at from beta testers. Which is that Pet Charms will finally become a 'real game currency' such as Valor or Conquest,. Therefore if you don't want the Pet Charms scattered across all your World of Warcraft characters then mail all of your Pet Charms to a main character. Even if the rumor proves false at least it's easy to mail those back out with no harm done. And should it prove true, then you just saved yourself a possible headache.

Happy Playing!
