Gold Guide: Getting ready for Patch 5.4

Make gold or be crushed beneath it!

The patch is nearly upon us. If you haven't had a chance to stockpile in preparation for the new tier there is still hope. However, let me stress this one thing; always stockpile. Even if there is no new patch on the horizon the key to truly being on top of things is to buy mats cheaply whenever you come across them. Get into the habit of squirreling away mats into a bank guild. When the opportunity comes to unload those gathered mats you'll be happy that you did.

Crafting Preparation

Here is the fundamentals: 

Patch 5.4 will introduce new crafting materials - Celestial Cloth for Tailors,  Hardened Magnificent Hide for Leatherworkers, Balanced Trillium Ingot for Blacksmiths, and Jard's Peculiar Energy Source for Engineers.

What are they for:

These are the new daily transmutes to create the new materials that will be used to make item level 553 gear(legs and belts). However, it is possible to bypass that limit by using the spell(depending on profession) Accelerated Balanced Trillium Ingot,  Accelerated Celestial Cloth, and  Accelerated Hardened Magnificent Hide which take the raw mats listed below in addition to Spirit of War(found from DEing 5.4 gear).

Daily CD requirements:

Hardened Magnificent Hide = Magnificent Hide x2
Celestial Cloth = Bolt of Windwool Cloth x10
Balanced Trillium Ingot = Trillum Bar x1

Jard's Peculiar Energy Source = Ghost Iron Bar x10 and Living Steel = Trillum Bar x6. 

What now? Patch is in less then a week!

As I said before, there is still hope. If you haven't begun to stockpile mats it's not too late to acquire a few before prices become rather volatile due to the new patch.

Notes of Interest:

Crafting: The new il476 gear will be hot. Crafters will learn these new recipes when making the new Celestial Cloth,  Hardened Magnificent Hide, or Balanced Trillium Ingot of the day. As usual the players will use this gear to help fill in holes or boost their ilevel to bypass the lower tiers of LFR. For the first few weeks there will be hardly any competition to sell this gear. Take advantage and sell high! Haunting Spirits will slowly decline in price as Blood Spirits have. Look forward to finally crafting and selling the il522 gear in droves.

Jewelcrafters: With a new tier comes plenty of new gem slots to fill. Have a nice stockpile of the popular cuts as well as the orange/purple hybrids on hand as they'll fly off the AH. Remember that there is a new change regarding "riposte' for tanks. Basically, dodge/parry/active mitigation builds will be viable once again. I hear that stamina will also be gaining a boost as well. 

Enchanters: New gear is on the horizon. Don't forget the new change that will scale all enchants(even MOP enchants) so that lower levels can use it on their gear and weapons. 

Scribes: The patch will bring 42 new glyphs to learn. The recipes will take some farming to get (World drops or Timeless Isle drops). There is a new il476 craftable PVP trinket(also a World drop) called the Crafted Malevolent Gladiator's Medallion of Tenacity. Be forwarned that there are requirements to attaining these new glyphs/trinket. Level 90(as it requires to do a questline) and an item level of 500+ gear as the mobs on the island are designed with this item level in mind. Your Inscription level will also need to be 500 skill points. 

It's Not Too Late

Finally -- if the raw mats listed above are already too high to purchase there is something that is a bit of a niche that you can use to gain a small foothold of gold. It's in regards to the highest available stat food that will replace the current banquets called; noodle cart.

Raiders will want this and now.

There is a L90 questline on the Timeless isle given to you by Chromie(she/he's back!) that will require a bit of doing as well as ingredients to be able to acquire the recipe for the noodle cart. Raiders will want to gain their noodle cart as fast as possible to hit progression ASAP. Therefore if you do anything at all for this upcoming patch then grab all that you can of the below ingredients and once the patch hits sell them skyhigh:

Quest:
