Popcorn worthy Guild Drama in World of Warcraft

Warcraft Guild

The quitter: You know who he/she is. The player that enters an instance or raid with good intentions but secretly kept rules. One of the inner rules that requires his/her continued participation is to never wipe more than twice. The second rule of thumb for the quitter is to always be awarded top loot regardless. And last but not least is the honor of being able to constantly whine about every possible(whether they happened or not) wrong aspect of the run without reprecussions of any kind.

Yep, this type of person truly does suck.

Not only do they demoralize the guild with tantrums that borderline 'temper tantrum tiny tot' but this type of player also brings nothing but negativity.

Unfortunately, my guild has two of them. Well I should amend that -- had two. One of the quitters actually g-quit the other day. His excuse? The guild was not progressing enough for his pleasure. Never mind that the person did nothing but Q_Q about every aspect of his participation in raids. Dual-specced as he was -- when this player was asked to heal the excuse was "I can't heal good. Something is wrong!" When this player was asked to DPS then the whine was about "My DPS never sucked this badly. Something is wrong!" All the while muttering in vent about how he never could gear up his toon properly. Never mind that a good portion of the gear went to his QQing self.

The second player I do dearly hope will mend his ways soon. He's a nice guy and very helpful to the other members. Yet here again he does have that 'quitter' persona. For the life of me I can't imagine why this one rolled a protection tank when nearly every word out of his mouth is "HIGH REPAIR BILL!" As we are a guild that is beginning to progress from ground up there are bound to be wipes as we learn to function as a team. Yet every two wipes is a loud grumbling about the cost of high repair bills. Should the group wipe more than twice than this player simply drops group. He utterly gives up!

The latest episode was in Heroic Violet Hold. Apparently there was a wipe or two due to a buggy portal. Two bosses were down and all that was needed was Cyanigosa but the 'repair bills' were too much to bear. He quit the party and left the group with their mouths hanging. It's as if this person doesn't realize that (1) he is a tank, (2) he wears plate, and (3) wipes are bound to happen. Still I do hope that he comes around. Despite the other little quirks that he has(as in believing he is a warrior not a pally tank and not using all of his cooldowns at his disposal) there is the nicer aspects to him. Great guild member, helpful, and with a good sense of humor.

At any rate I better close this entry or bare the risk of someone whining about the wall of text crit!
