Goldshire ERP Crackdown

Recently a parent decided to take a stand against the notarious rep that Moonshire US server has for explicit erotic role-playing (ERP). Blizzard responded with a post of their own stating that CS representatives will actively monitor certain areas for conduct that breeches the TOS policy. Basically this patrolling for rule-breaking only applies to comments made in public channels such as 'say, general, yell, trade'.The parent in question posted in comments at WoW Insider

Here are some snippets:

But the topics of conversation that night were about African-Americans (naturally, they were using the "N"word) seeking underage girls to rape. That's a quote, my friend.

But talk of rape, underage sex, and "come on into the upstairs Inn if you want a BJ from a hot homo" are WAY beyond the scope of normality. It's sick and disgusting and ANY parent would not want to subject their child to that.

If getting them to actively monitor Goldshire by making a thread and cancelling his account was what was needed, then I don't care how much I get flamed.

Yeah, I can see a reason to be alarmed. I'm pretty sure no one asks a person if they are underage when they approach the other party for cybering. And I do believe it is 'cybering' as most erotic role-playing(ERP is something I occasionally do with and only with my husband) derives from a developed story or will lead into a story that progresses characters. There is a fine line between sensuality and disgusting debauchery. However this kind of cybering isn't restricted to Moonshire as most other servers aren't necessarily as innocent either. A while back a Live Journal user by the name of WoW Gossip made a tour of  RP servers. It's worth checking out if you want a chuckle as to what goes behind the scenes.
